Individuals wishing to be considered for nomination to the Allegheny County Police Review Board must submit a letter of interest by the close of business on Thursday, April 7, the Allegheny County Board announced at its last meeting.

The Allegheny County Police Review Board has been approved by the county board to begin in 2022, nearly four years after it was first proposed in response to the 2018 murder of Antwon Rose II by Antwon Rose II police. East Pittsburgh. The board will have jurisdiction over the Allegheny County Police Department and the police departments of any municipalities in the county that choose to participate.

Individuals wishing to serve must be legal residents of the United States and must have resided in Allegheny County for at least one year prior to (and during) their appointment. Council members may not be elected officials or employees of the United States government, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Allegheny County, or any municipality.

Letters of interest should include a statement of interest and a summary of experience, education, training, or other relevant factors related to a potential appointment. Letters of Interest may be submitted by email (CntyCouncil@AlleghenyCounty.us), or by regular mail or in person to:
