New Asda Cake Design Might Make Animal Loving Kids Cry, Parents Say

Supermarket giant Asda is popular with shoppers looking to try new and exciting products.

The retailer keeps shoppers up to date with their new products via social media.

Food discovery page on social media NewFoodsUK shared an image of ASDA’s latest cake – which is shaped like an adorable little guinea pig, Manchester Evening News reports.

The message read: “The new Ginny the Guinea Pig cake is now available from Asda!”

Social media users quickly noticed the cake and the likes, comments and shares started to pile up.

Since its publication, the image has accumulated 49,000 comments, 4,000 shares and 12,000 likes.

One person said, “I love this !! Too cute to eat.

Another wrote: “Wow! That’s lovely! I had a lot of real pigs but my dog would eat them now. I’m going to have to have a cake guinea pig instead.”

“I want a Ginny Pig Cake! I would actually settle for a good old caterpillar cake, supermarket cakes are so boring in here,” said a third.

However, some people pointed out that the cake could “scare” children.

“How to scare all the children who have ever had a guinea pig,” joked one customer.

A second reviewer joked: “Beautiful but we had tears cutting Colin the caterpillar, it will be a complete fusion with a guinea pig.”

“I love it, but imagine the trauma of picking up a knife, especially at a children’s birthday party,” a third said.

Ginny the Guinea Pig Cakes are available in ASDA stores and online now and cost £ 10 each.
