MILWAUKEE – On Saturday, June 18, Historic Concordia Neighbors Inc. will lead a tour of Gilded Age homes and buildings in the city.
“I would like to encourage all residents who appreciate Milwaukee’s rich architectural history to attend this tour,” Supervisor Peter Burgelis said. “My thanks go to the neighborhood association for organizing this tour, and to the many participants who return year after year. The city’s commitment to preservation and revitalization allows you to see many of these historic buildings still in use today.
The tour will feature over 10 homes and buildings in the city, with refreshments available throughout the day. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a beer tasting while chatting with owners and taking photos with the Milwaukee Police Department Mounted Patrol. There will be musical entertainment at various locations on the tour throughout the day.
The tour will begin at the Wgechda building on the Potawatomi campus at 9:30 a.m. with a Pie & Cake Social. Milwaukee Historian John C. Eastberg will begin speaking at 10 a.m.
Homes in the area that are for sale will be opened or identified.
