My sister in law made the cutest easter cake using chocolate Easter bunnies, shredded coconut and candies. So simple yet so cute! This easy Easter cake recipe is a creative way to use up that Easter candy and have a little fun with the kids.

The cake can be made ahead or make it a family affair on Easter Day and decorate the baked cake after the big Easter egg hunt with all the goodies.

Baking time: 25 to 30 minutes to bake the cake

Ingredients


Here’s how to do it:


  1. Bake cake according to package directions. Cool completely.
  2. Tint coconut green by placing desired amount in a bowl or zip-top plastic bag. Using a toothpick, add some green food coloring. Knead or stir until the color is evenly distributed.
  3. Frost cooled cake with vanilla frosting.
  4. Cover the bottom of the cake with the tinted coconut to look like grass.
  5. Place the chocolate-covered Easter bunnies on top of the cake so they look like they’re sitting on the grass.
  6. Add the candies.
